Want something? Where do you go?

Google, Bing, Youtube?

With almost 40% of clicks going to the top position, it’s imperative you appear on the first page of Google.

Want us to help you reach the top?

Why your business needs SEO

When your business ranks as the first result on Google, 33% of people will click on your website.

Why?

Because Google’s algorithms have analysed your website using hundreds of different variables and considers your page as the best choice for solving your target audiences’ queries and questions.

And you can get there – with a little help from Pink Elephant Media.

We install a Schema Markup on your website which helps search engines understand what your site is about. This then breaks down the details of your site for customers on the results page into ‘Rich results’, which are more eye-catching and achieve a higher click-through rate (CTR).

What is Schema Mark up?

Schema markup, found at Schema.org, is a form of microdata. Once added to a webpage, schema markup creates an enhanced description (commonly known as a rich snippet), which appears in search results.

Top search engines – including Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Yandex – first started collaborating to create Schema.org, back in 2011.

Schema markup is especially important in the age of Hummingbird and RankBrain. How a search engine interprets the context of a query will determine the quality of a search result.

Schema can provide context to an otherwise ambiguous webpage.

What Is Schema Used For?

Schema markup helps your website rank better for all kinds of content types. There is data markup for…

  • Articles
  • Local businesses
  • Restaurants
  • TV episodes and ratings
  • Book reviews
  • Movies
  • Software applications
  • Events
  • Products
  • Receipes
  • Personal
  • Organisation
  • Video

There are hundreds of markup types. If you have any type of data on your website, there’s a good chance that it’s going to have an associated itemscope and itemtype.

Websites that use schema markup will rank better in the SERPs than companies without markup. One study determined that websites with markup rank an average of four positions higher in the SERPs than those without schema markup. While it’s not totally clear that this higher result is due to the markup alone, there is obviously some correlation.

Right now, one-third of Google’s search results incorporate rich snippets, which includes schema markup. However, according to recent research, less than one-third of websites use schema markup.
